1.Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995. At present the Institute has eleven departments and five inter-disciplinary academic centres covering all the major engineering, science and humanities disciplines, offering B.Tech, B.Des, MA, M.Des, M.Tech, MSc and PhD programmes. Within a short period of time, IIT Guwahati has been able to build up world class infrastructure for carrying out advanced research and has been equipped with state-of-the-art scientific and engineering instruments.Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati’s campus is on a sprawling 285 hectares plot of land on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra around 20 km. from the heart of the city. With the majestic Brahmaputra on one side, and with hills and vast open spaces on others, the campus provides an ideal setting for learning.
2.National Institute of Technology [NIT], Silchar
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar is ranked at 51st in the Engineering category by NIRF Ranking 2019, making it one of the leading technical institutes in India. The university started as a regional engineering college. But in 2002 the university was included in the list of NITs under the National Institute of Technology Act 2007 and was also declared as an Institute of National Importance. The college currently has a student strength of 3,001 including male and female students, as well as a highly qualified faculty of 209 members with a majority of Ph.D holders.
NIT Silchar offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level programs in Engineering, Science, Humanities and 11 other departments. Admission is done based on entrance examinations such as JEE Mains, GATE, CAT and NET. The institute also offers healthcare, sports and other facilities to students. NIT Silchar has had a great placement record with more than 86% of B.Tech students getting placed last year, with an average annual CTC of INR 6.25 LPA. The highest package offered was for INR 32.5 LPA, from Arcesium India Pvt Ltd.

Tezpur University is a Central University located in Tezpur in the North-Eastern state of Assam, India by an act in Parliament of India in 1994. It is a non-affiliating and residential Central University. The University has a variety of UG, PG, Ph.D., Diploma and Certificate courses in various departments in many disciplines and their specializations. The academic programs offered in the University have a distinct focus on science, technology, and humanities, reflecting the objective of the University. Tezpur University Admissions to all courses is based on an entrance exam which is conducted by the university itself. 3.ASSAM ENGINEERING COLLEGE - [AEC], GUWAHATI
Assam Engineering College (AEC) was the first engineering college in north-east India established in 1955. It is situated at Jalukbari in the south-west part of Guwahati. AEC not only provides an ideal context for learning but also creates a charming impingement on visitors. The college is affiliated to Gauhati University and has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). AEC offers eight different bachelor programs in engineering and various postgraduate programs as well.
